The Henderson Land Group has always been committed to community activities. We sponsored venue to Hong Kong Eye Hospital. A two-day ¡§Eyesight No.1¡¨ Exhibition was held at Tseung Kwan O's Metro City Phase II to promote the eye care campaign. The eye doctors also provided free medical consultation, which attracted hundreds of residents. Citizen could learn the importance of eye care through this exhibition. Mr. Suen Kwok Lam, the executive director of the Henderson Land Group, paid homage to the doctors, optometrists and volunteers of Hong Kong Eye Hospital in his speech.
Hang Yick Awards Scholarship To Outstanding Students

In fulfilling the principle of ¡§Getting from the Community, Contributing to the Community¡¨, Hang Yick Properties Management Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Henderson Group, has appropriated a fund for the Education of Scholarship Scheme since 2001 Year of Education to compliment on those estate's students exhibiting outstanding academic performance in Hong Kong Certificate of Education (HKCEE), Hong Kong Advanced Level Education (HKAL) and international academic competitions. The first prize, second prize and third prize winners are awarded HKD$3000, $2000 and $1000 respectively.
For the distinguished academic performance in HKAL, an outstanding student from Aberdeen's Full Jade Mansion was awarded the first prize with 1A3B. A student from Sunshine City Phase IV won the second prize with 2A1C.
For the outstanding students in HKCEE, who are required to obtain a good result in six subjects including Chinese, English and Mathematics, the first prize went to a student from Grand Panorama of Hong Kong Island with 6A. A student from Yiu On Estate received the second prize with 5A1C.
The Long March For Foundation Education In China

To help children in Mainland China to return school, ¡§The Long March for Education in China¡¨ took place in mid October. In making its full contribution to community and China, the Henderson Land Group supported this charity event. 20 representatives from Hang Yick and Well Born participated in this walkathon.
4 participants in first and second section of the journey returned in triumph. They were impressed by the journey. They said it was an hounour to participate in this meaningful walkathon.

The 3-day ¡§Oxfam Trailwalker 2004¡¨ was successfully completed on Nov 7th. Fund was raised to support various poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects in Africa and Asia, including Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Participants from Well Born Real Estate Management Ltd successfully completed the 100km MacLehose Trail in 32 hours 6 minutes. Participants with a team spirit have to encourage each other along the way, facing every difficulty together. Let us applaud them for their good job!

Thousands of mooncake tin boxes have been recycled successfully. |
Hang Yick and Well Born have been committed to environmental protection plans and activities. To encourage the public to recover mooncake containers, in last Mid-Autumn Festival, the managed estates of Hang Yick participated in the ¡§Moonkick Action Program¡¨ launched by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) and Friends of The Earth. The programme aimed to motivate the environmental protection concept to citizens and enhance green awareness. Thousands of mooncake tin boxes have been recycled successfully.
Thanks to your enthusiastic participation, more than 5000 mooncake tin boxes were recycled in all managed estates through the ¡§Mooncake box recovery scheme ¡¨ jointly organized by Well Born and Tolo Harbour Rotary Club.

Heng Tat Construction Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Henderson Group, received ¡§Considerate Contractors Site Award ¡§and ¡§Site Cleanliness and Tidiness Grand Award¡¨ with the winning project Tuen Mun Lam Tei Project in the 10th Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme 2004.
The "Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme" has been operated by the Environment, Transport and Works Bureau. This year, a total of 134 entries competed under the scheme, including 68 public work sites and 66 non-public work sites. The ¡§Considerate Contractors Site Awards ¡§are awarded to contractors who are law-abiding, have demonstrated good management, outstanding site safety and environmental performance, and their considerate attitude towards the public and the neighbourhood in carrying out works. The ¡§Site Cleanliness and Tidiness Grand Awards¡¨ are awarded based on the quarterly assessments of housekeeping, cleanliness and tidiness, and hygiene of and around the site and the performance in the control of mosquito breeding. Apart from having good site performance, the contractor of the winning site should also be free from convictions and summons throughout the entire 12-month appraisal period.

E Man Construction Co. Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Henderson Group, won the Merit Award of Building Sites (Private Sector) and Merit Award of Safety Teams with the Grand Promenade Project in the Construction Industry Safety Awards Scheme. The scheme was launched in Nov, 2003. Various government departments and public organization formed the judging panel to evaluate the performance of 104 construction sites in both private and public sectors for the awards. The Grand Promenade Project will continue to build a good example and enhance the awareness among contractors and workers of safety and health at work.

The Best Security Award of Yuen Long District (2004/2005) was organized by Yuen Long District Fight Crime Committee.
