The Parade Exhibition is on show at International Finance Centre in late October. The unveiling of the exhibition by Jacques Chirac, President of France, marked the opening of the Year of France in China, part of the celebration of China-France's 40 years of diplomatic relation.
The Parade is Picasso's the largest masterpiece created in 1917. Regarded by the French as one of the national treasures, it is worth 780 million dollars. It measures 10.5m high by 16.64m wide and weight 45kg. The masterpiece is rarely put in display, with only ten public showings over the last 50 years. The ifc showing is the first time it has been exhibited in Asia. Parade was sent back to Centre Pompidou after the ifc show where it will remain in storage for 20 years before another public appearance. It is a great opportunity for Hong Kong people to participate in this exhibition.
